EAPN Austria starts 2010 activities with conference on distribution and a good life for all. The 8th Austrian Poverty Conference took place on Salzburg the 23rd and 24th of February.
Over 400 participants attended to this event, which was planned as the opening of EAPN Austria’s activities for 2010.
The conference reunited social NGOs, organisations of people experiencing poverty, public authorities and from the research community, including Richard Wilkinson, author of ‘The spirit level’. The event focused on issues of distribution, capabilities and quality of life and included Richard Wilkinson (author of ‘The spirit level’) as keynote speaker.
A theatre play and small public interventions will travel across the country to remind everyone about the negative consequences of social exclusion.
‘Spoons’ have been chosen to be used as a logo and symbol to be involved in all activities and remind everyone that there will be enough for everyone if wealth and resources will be distributed differentely.
