Created in 1971, Caritas Europa brings together 48 organisations that are active in 44 European countries, working to build a better world, especially for the poor and oppressed.

In the week running up to 14 February Bishops in Europe are invited to meet people experiencing poverty and social exclusion.
14 February: The Pope invited by Caritas Italiana, will be visiting Caritas’ projects in Rome
27 May: Conference: « Mobilisation of Europe in the fight against poverty and social exclusion in the world » (CE / secours Catholique)

4 October: Continuation of Cluny 2010 in Strasbourg where policy proposals formulated at Cluny are brought to the European level (Council of Europe)
