Solidar (SOLIDAR)

SOLIDAR is a European network of 53 NGOs active in over 90 countries working to advance social justice in Europe and worldwide. SOLIDAR lobbies the EU and international institutions in three primary areas: social affairs (more social Europe), international cooperation (development cooperation) and education (lifelong learning for all).

Planned activities

SOLIDAR network/Secretariat

Activities focusing on the following topics: Working poor, precarious labour and decent living and working conditions in Europe. This comprises the issues posted work, temporary agency work, undocumented work by migrants from EU MS or third countries (not least in the field of social and health services, in particular long-term care and household-related services).

SOLIDAR members

Bilateral and multilateral cooperation of SOLIDAR members will focus on the following topics:

  1. Child poverty;
  2. Integration of immigrants;
  3. Over-indebtedness and financial exclusion;
  4. Youth unemployment and transition of socially young adults from education and training into the labour market. These joint activities will focus on an exchange of good practice, should involve people experiencing poverty or social exclusion and come up with guides for practitioners and policy recommendations.
